Aldrich/Palmer Photos

These are photos of the Aldrich/Palmer Family which consists of Abraham Lincoln Aldrich and Ida Laura Palmer Aldrich and their children, Lulu Mae, Pearl Elizabeth, Clarence Harris, Ethel Mabel, and Lucy Mary Aldrich. These pictures were taken during the late 19th and early 20th century.

• Three Aldrich sisters in 1890. Ida left Iowa in 1908. All three sisters were put in foster care after their mother died.

• In 1938 Abraham and Ida Aldrich return to Iowa for a visit with friends and family. This is at the well in the yard of the Little Brown Church in the Vale. Front row: Ethel Aldrich Bohanan, Back row: Cousin Vera, Abraham Aldrich, Wilbur(Web) Swagerty, Uncle Will Charney

• Ida & Abraham Aldrich in 1940 in Hughson, California just a year before Abraham passed.

• Abraham Lincoln Aldrich on day of wedding August 1880.

• Aldrich home out in country before it burned down. Lucy, Ida, Ethel with neighbor girl in front of house. 1920ish.

• Using the excuse of one of the Aldrich sisters’ birthday, either Lulu or Ethel, a reunion was held in the Hughson Methodist Church in 1981.

• Ida Palmer age 13, 1888 in Humbolt county, Iowa

• Lucy is age 3 and Ethel is age 5 in Humbolt, Iowa. People advised them to leave the dog in Iowa because California would be the wrong climate for the dog. Lucy missed her dog.

• Lucy Mary Aldrich marries Melbourne Moorhead May 9, 1928
• Ethel is Lucy’s maid of honor. Lulu’s daughter, Marian is the flower girl. When Lucy and Mel returned from their honeymoon Marian has suddenly died.

• Joseph Aldrich 1912 in college. He lived with the A.L. Aldrich in Iowa and California

• Joe Aldrich 1917 soldier in WWI

• Aldrich and Harris families gathered as neighbors do. A. L. • Humboldt, Iowa in 1881ish. Lucy Mary Reynolds Aldrich married neighbor William Shove. This issue a photo of their combined families still at home. I am guessing that teen age A.L. Aldrich is in the back on far right.
