Floyd Swagerty purchased a 16 mm camera in the early 1950’s, and much of the oldest video is from his film collection. During the 1980’s, his son, Brian, worked for the Shasta County Office of Education and was able to use a machine they had in the AV department that converted movie film to VHS video tape. He also converted his wife’s family movies and their own family’s Super8 film to VHS. In 2020, Brian converted the VHS tape to computer files (.mp4 and .mov), and this is what was first put on this site. It is hoped that more family movies can be added as time progresses. If you have family home movies you would like to add, please contact Brian Swagerty (swagerty@gmail.com) or Donna Swagerty Shreve (shakeybike@aol.com).
The videos are arranged in family groups to match the rest of this site, except for large family events that have extensive video.
