Tales I Can Remember

A Diary by Elsie Swagerty Burton

Preface by Nancy Burton Waldron

Early in 1987, Mother told me about this book that she had written over the years of her memories. None of us knew of its existence.

She had several pages that were still handwritten and wanted me to finish typing them and share this book with her loved ones after her death. I agreed to finish the book for her. I apologize for the five year delay in completing the book, but I did not have the courage.

So sit back and enjoy this book of Elsie’s memories. I am grateful she took the time to write these tales because when reading them, she feels a little closer. We all miss her so . . .
